Photo and video processing

Garim processes the photos and videos you select on your device. Media used for face detection, photo text suggestions, video tracking, and redaction export is not uploaded to servers operated by Garim. Video text is not automatically detected or redacted, and personal information in audio is not automatically anonymized. Detection and tracking can miss targets. Review the entire result before sharing.

Photo projects

To let you continue editing, the app stores a copy of the selected photo, project name, mask regions, zoom and selection state, and preview in a local project folder. This includes an unredacted photo copy. The folder uses the system backup-exclusion attribute. Deleting a photo project does not delete copies already saved to Photos or shared.

Information retained in video projects

To support editing and resuming interrupted work, the app stores a source video copy, project name, mask regions, tracking, review and editing information, and generated previews and exports in a local project folder. Projects contain unredacted source media. Project folders use the system backup-exclusion attribute. Garim does not provide its own cloud project synchronization.

Deleting projects and exported copies

In the project list, touch and hold a project, choose Delete project, and confirm to delete that project's folder from the app. This does not delete originals in Photos or Files, or copies previously exported or shared. Delete those separately in the relevant app or destination if needed. The app attempts to remove temporary import copies when the import operation normally ends. Forced termination or storage errors may prevent immediate cleanup.

Saving permissions and sharing

The app requests permission when saving results to Photos. Edited results are saved as new copies without overwriting originals. When you select Photos, Files, or a sharing destination, that service's storage and synchronization settings and privacy policy may apply.

Video Pro purchases

Video Pro is a one-time Apple in-app purchase. The app checks verified StoreKit transactions and current entitlements to enable access, restore purchases, and handle entitlement changes following refunds or revocation. Garim does not directly receive payment card numbers or require a separate purchase account. Apple's policies govern its payment and transaction processing.

Website analytics

The Garim website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and interactions. Google may process browser, device and usage information and use cookies or similar technologies. This website measurement is separate from the app’s on-device photo and video processing. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
